We Learn

Our lifelong learning programs are for those who want to keep learning – or keep teaching! Connect and engage at Open University and Lunch & Life. Or, if you’d rather see it than read about it, check out our Events!

Open University
An 8-week session of courses, lecturers, and speakers held in the fall, winter and spring. Instructors are volunteers recruited from Richmond’s university and professional communities. One tuition payment gives you access to All COURSES and LUNCH TALKS in that session. Registration for individual courses is not necessary. Simply pay tuition for the session, choose what you want to attend and show up! Volunteers will greet you at the front desk and direct you to your classroom. Get complete details, see the Open University schedule and register here.

Lunch & Life
Presented in partnership with St. Mary Catholic Church, this 4-week lecture series FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Learn all about Lunch & Life here.

Events!
The Events! program was created to fulfill one of the Center’s guiding values: “We recognize the significant health benefits of remaining active and avoiding social isolation.” What better way to put this value into action than by getting together, sharing a meal, and learning about our city? Visit our Events! page and see where we’ve been and where we’re going!

Women’s Group
The Women’s Group meets at 2:30 pm on the second Thursday of most months. Free to members of The Shepherd’s Center. Contact Julie Adams Buchanan: jadams@tscor.org, or Rosie Shomaker: roshogreen@msn.com.
