The 1947 classic The Bishop’s Wife stars Cary Grant as Dudley, a debonair angel sent to guide a stressed bishop, Henry Brougham (David Niven), who has neglected his faith and his lonely wife, Julia (Loretta Young), while obsessing over building a grand cathedral. Instead of raising money, the charming Dudley works subtle miracles to restore joy to the community, helping the bishop realize that love and family matter far more than monuments of stone.
