Tootsie (1982) is a comedy about Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman), a talented yet notoriously difficult New York actor unable to find work. Disguising himself as a woman named Dorothy Michaels, he unexpectedly lands a role on a hit daytime soap opera and becomes a feminist icon, complicating his life when he falls for his co-star, Julie.
