“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe
Today is day two of National Volunteer Week and our quote comes from one of Richmond’s very own – Arthur Ashe. And while we can’t claim the honor of having had Mr. Ashe as a volunteer for The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond (TSCOR), we can use his example of service in the name of causes you believe in as the yard stick to which we measure our volunteers by.
TSCOR’s business model is unique from other nonprofits. We are made by, for and about older adults. If there is a service we want to provide, we start it. If there is a program we want to offer, we create and have it. Our volunteers really DO what they can. And they do it well. Thank you, Shepherd’s Center volunteers! Thank you so much. You really do measure up.
