Lunch Speaker this Monday

Come to lunch Monday and hear Deirdra McAfee and Betty Joyce Nash, award-winning writers, editors and teachers, talk about their literary anthology, Lock and Load: Armed Fiction. It is a collection of contemporary stories about America’s guns, a collaboration filled with action, suspense and fun.  Note: This presentation is not associated with any recent gun issues.

Travel with The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond

To the US Army Woman’s Museum & City Point on Tuesday, April 24, 2018

This is the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the contributions of women to the Army. It tells the amazing story of female patriots who have served our nations from the American Revolution to the present.

Your tour will include a plated lunch at the very popular Half Way House Restaurant. The afternoon will be spent at historic City Point in Hopewell. This was the location of General Grant’s Headquarters during the siege of Petersburg during the Civil War. Your Tour Cost Includes round trip Motor-coach transportation, donation to the Museum, lunch, tax and gratuity for meal and driver gratuity.

OU Open President’s Day

Tomorrow is President’s Day and many things will be closed – but not Open University! We will meet tomorrow, February 19, at St. Luke Lutheran.

And stay for lunch to hear our speaker, Shahan Mufti, assistant professor in journalism at the University of Richmond, present, The Faithful Scribe: A Story of Islam, Pakistan, Family, and War.
