And it’s a good day to telecommute too…that’s what your director is doing.
We will be checking messages at the office throughout the day. I hope all of you are safe and warm. Enjoy the snow! ~ Julie
Dr. Charles O’Neal, retired biophysicist of MCV/VCU, has graciously agreed to present his popular illustrated talk on “Family Values: The Mitfords, Curzons, Lady Astor, and the Von Harnacks on the Attraction of Fascism and Communism in the 1930’s” for the Open University on Feb. 9 at 12:30 at St. Luke Lutheran Church. He replaces Dr. Tom Morris who was to speak on “The Continuing Efforts to Reform the American Educational System.”
Latin American History, taught by Jane Howells, will not be offered this winter. It will be rescheduled at a later date. Women and the Bible, taught by Liz Yates, has been cancelled due to an unexpected death in the family.
On Friday, December 12th we gathered together at St. Luke Lutheran Church for our Yuletide Celebration. We shared some good fellowship and delicious food provided by our Board of Directors. It is always wonderful when we come together and get to know one another better. Everyone had a great time.

I had a fantastic time this past Sunday at Grace Baptist Church’s Christmas Mission Market. It was my 6th year representing TSCOR. It has become a part of my own Christmas traditions and I look forward to it each December. It was great spending time with Karen Hamlett, Randy Scott, Jimmie Gaunce, Bernie Henderson and Sandy Morrison. They are all volunteer drivers for the Center and Bernie & Randy recently joined our board of directors. Both Grace Baptist and TSCOR are blessed by them all. – Julie

We had an amazing “Behind the Headlines” presentation last Thursday at our Open University. FBI special agent, David P. Hulser, gave us invaluable information about keeping your identity safe and secure in this day and age. Below you will find his notes that contain the names, phone numbers and website links needed to ensure that your identity is safe. He will be speaking again at St. Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 15th at 12:30 (brown bag lunch is at noon). Don’t miss a chance to hear what he has to say and bring all your questions!
Spanish for Travelers, scheduled at St. Luke Lutheran on Mondays at 11:00 a.m., has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in a future session. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call the office at 355-7282.
