Help TSCOR Smile with Amazon
Do you shop on Amazon? Have you heard of AmazonSmile? It’s a program offered by Amazon that enables you to donate to your favorite charity every time you shop – with no cost to you!
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon and when you shop there, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the charitable organization of your choice.
I shop at smile.amazon.com and it is the same Amazon you know – same products, same prices, same Amazon Prime benefits. We would love for you to do the same and choose The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond.
It’s easy to do. On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you will be asked to select a charitable organization to receive donations (they will remember your selection). Then you simply go to smile.amazon.com when you want to shop Amazon. If you have any questions, please call the office (804-355-7282). THANKS! – Julie
FYI – Amazon’s second-annual Prime Day is on Tuesday, July 12 and will feature more than 100,000 deals exclusively for Prime members, making it one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Shop for great deals here!
Note: 100% of the donation amount generated from your eligible purchase on AmazonSmile will be donated. Donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you.

A Wonderful Thyme Was Had by All!

Last week we celebrated our volunteers with a luncheon, loot and lambs at First Baptist Church. We can never thank
our volunteers enough for all that they do to make Richmond a more caring community for older people – Thank you for your Thyme!!!

Open University Lunch Speaker Correction
Sunday’s Times-Dispatch book section has an error in the location of Thursday’s lunch speaker. Dr. Everett Worthington, professor of psychology at VCU, will speak on “Forgiveness and Heroic Humility” at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street, on Thursday, April 28, and not at St. Luke Lutheran. His talk at St. Luke will be on Monday, May 2.
HAPPY NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK!!
To quote our president’s proclamation:
People of all ages can volunteer, and anyone can, through the smallest of acts, do their part to improve the lives of others. This week, we celebrate the selfless individuals around our country who channel their civic virtues through volunteerism, and we encourage more people to make service an integral part of their lives.”
Volunteers help drive our country’s progress, and day in and day out, they make extraordinary sacrifices to expand promise and possibility. During National Volunteer Week, let us shed the cynicism that says one person cannot make a difference in the lives of others by embracing each of our individual responsibilities to serve and shape a brighter future for all.
I want to thank all of our volunteers at The Shepherd’s Center of
Richmond for their dedication, energy, encouragement, creativity and excitement. Together, we continue to make Richmond a more caring community for older people – Julie
