It’s time to get some bargains! Today, July 12th, is Amazon Prime Day and the deals are better than Black Friday.
Remember to go to Amazon Smile and choose The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond and shop away! A portion of your purchase will be donated to TSCOR and every little bit counts! Thank you in advance and happy shopping!!!
Do you shop on Amazon? Have you heard of AmazonSmile? It’s a program offered by Amazon that enables you to donate to your favorite charity every time you shop – with no cost to you!
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon and when you shop there, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the charitable organization of your choice.
I shop at smile.amazon.com and it is the same Amazon you know – same products, same prices, same Amazon Prime benefits. We would love for you to do the same and choose The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond.
It’s easy to do. On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you will be asked to select a charitable organization to receive donations (they will remember your selection). Then you simply go to smile.amazon.com when you want to shop Amazon. If you have any questions, please call the office (804-355-7282). THANKS! – Julie
FYI – Amazon’s second-annual Prime Day is on Tuesday, July 12 and will feature more than 100,000 deals exclusively for Prime members, making it one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Shop for great deals here!
Note: 100% of the donation amount generated from your eligible purchase on AmazonSmile will be donated. Donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you.
Susie’s French class met at the Can Can this morning for their annual end of the year soirée, but a surprise birthday celebration was afoot! There were cards, balloons, cake and a surprise visit from Julie, TSCOR Director. Happy Birthday to our wonderful Susie!!!!
Sunday’s Times-Dispatch book section has an error in the location of Thursday’s lunch speaker. Dr. Everett Worthington, professor of psychology at VCU, will speak on “Forgiveness and Heroic Humility” at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street, on Thursday, April 28, and not at St. Luke Lutheran. His talk at St. Luke will be on Monday, May 2.
The Shepherd’s Center appeared with MEDARVA on Channel 6’s Virginia This Morning today. We are partnering to bring an informative medical series to the Open University this spring. If you missed it, you can hit the link below. We hope to see you at the OU starting Monday, April 4th!
The 2016 Spring OU Schedule is now available on our website (on the Open University tab) or just click the link below. We are looking forward to an exciting session!
Spring 2016 OU Schedule
We are sorry to announce that the Open University at St. Luke’s Lutheran is canceled due to inclement weather. There is a strong potential for hazardous travel conditions all morning and possibly throughout the afternoon and the safety of our students, faculty and staff is most important.
Stay safe and warm and we hope to see you at Thursday’s Open University at First Presbyterian – Julie
It’s time to get out of the house! Open University will meet as scheduled, Thursday, January 28, at First Presbyterian Church. When Richmond City Schools have a delayed opening, we meet as we normally do. Classes are 9:45, 11:00, 12:15 and 1:30.
We also have a change of lunch speakers at 12:30. Elizabeth Seydel Morgan, prize-winning poet and author of Spans, will be unable to speak at First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Jan. 28. She will be rescheduled for the fall. In her place is Paul Sacra, whose topic is “”The Battle of Cedar Mountain: Stonewall Jackson’s Last Fight as an Independent Commander.”
We hope to see everyone who can make it safely!
Last week we celebrated our volunteers with a luncheon, loot and lambs at First Baptist Church. We can never thank
our volunteers enough for all that they do to make Richmond a more caring community for older people – Thank you for your Thyme!!!
